Dear Parents and Guardians:
We are very excited to once again have the 21st CCLC grant after school Program here at Supai for the 2009-2010. This year our program will be starting after Fall Break, at the end of October. This program takes place Monday – Thursday from 3:30 – 5:30. Students will receive a snack at 3:30 and transportation will be available at the end of the program for current bus eligible students. There are a variety of classes offered to our 7th and 8th grade students and they are designed to meet the needs of each individual child. Below is a list of possible classes that your child may be assigned:
· Reading Intervention and Enrichment
· Newsmaker Broadcasting
· Positive Youth Development Clubs
· Sports and Art enrichment
· Writing Intervention and Enrichment
· Math Intervention and Enrichment
· Hip-Hop Dance
· Book Creations
· Study Skills/Homework Completion
· Twilight Book Club
When using funding through a grant, there are specific requirements that must be followed. One requirement is that students who sign up for the program need to be present each day. We must log the number of hours we served individual children. There are exceptions to every rule, and we realize some students have activities (dance, gymnastics, baseball, etc…) on particular days. This needs to be noted on the attached form. Miss Ewoniuk, one of our 7th grade math teachers, will again be the site coordinator for the after school program, and will work with families to meet their needs.
If you are interested in signing your child(ren) up for the program, please fill out the attached form and return it to the front office. The following week, your child will receive their schedule noting their acceptance into the program and more detailed information. Come on and join the fun! Supai Eagles are Soaring Beyond Expectations!
